When is the best time to photograph a newborn?
    • The best time to capture those precious newborn moments is when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old. At this age, babies are usually very sleepy and less sensitive to touch and sound, making the session smoother and allowing for a wider range of adorable, curled-up poses. After the 14-day mark, babies start to become more aware of their surroundings, more alert, and sometimes even colicky. This can make them a bit fussy and might make the session a little trickier. If you miss the newborn stage, it's still possible to photograph your baby, but the images may not look the same as those in my portfolio. After 21 days, babies tend to be more alert and aren't as easily curled up. For older babies, I plan for more swaddle setups and capture more awake shots. However, if you have already had your baby, please contact me to see if I have any availability.

When is the best time to schedule a maternity session?
    • The ideal time for a maternity photography session is between the 28th and 36th week of pregnancy. At this stage, your baby bump will be beautifully prominent, and you will likely still feel comfortable enough to pose for portraits.

What if I book a newborn session and my baby arrives early or late?
    • If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected (unless you're having a planned c-section), that’s completely normal. For this reason, all newborn sessions are scheduled tentatively. We’ll stay in touch to monitor any updates, and once your baby is born, we can reschedule the session for a time that works best. As long as your booking is confirmed and you're on my calendar, your session is guaranteed.

How can I book a newborn session with you?
    • The easiest way to reach me is by sending an email through the contact page, texting me, or DMing me on Instagram. Please fill out the short contact form so I can get back to you. I typically respond within 24 hours. Once we connect, I will send you an invoice for a $100 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot. After the deposit is paid, you’ll receive a confirmation email for your booking. When your baby arrives, I’ll be expecting an email or phone call from you so we can finalize the date for the session. Once we have the date confirmed, I’ll send you an email with helpful tips on how to prepare for the photoshoot.

Do you provide props for the newborn session?
    • Yes, my studio is fully equipped with a selection of high-quality props, outfits for newborns and babies, wraps, headbands, backdrops, and more. You won’t need to worry about bringing anything for the session, everything needed will be provided.
  • 07.
How long is the newborn session?
    • The length of the newborn session depends on how sleepy your baby is, but it usually lasts up to 2-4 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, changing, and making sure your little one is comfortable. I like to take my time to ensure we get the best possible shots, so you never have to worry about feeling rushed.

What can I expect during the newborn session?
    • Before your session, I’ll ask about your vision for the photoshoot to ensure I capture exactly what you’re looking for. Feel free to share any inspiration images from my portfolio to help me better understand your style. Prior to your arrival, all set-ups in the studio will be ready, and everything will be steam sanitized for your baby’s safety. The room will be heated to ensure your baby’s comfort, so please dress accordingly. Make yourself at home—I encourage you to relax and enjoy the session while I focus on posing and photographing your little one. Water and snacks will be available in the studio, though you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks as well. During the session, your baby’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I have extensive knowledge in newborn safety and will only perform poses I am fully confident in. I typically aim for 4 set-ups during the session, along with capturing precious details like lips, fingers, and toes. If there is an older sibling, we will begin with sibling photos, followed by family shots. Afterward, it’s a good idea for one parent to take the sibling home or for a walk, so we can focus entirely on the newborn. Newborn sessions require a calm and quiet atmosphere, so I will use white noise or a baby shusher to help keep your little one relaxed and sleepy throughout the session.
